I'll pass on this one. I don't remember how far I read but I do know that the first couple just got married, after knowing each other for a few hours. There isn't really a story, or one that makes sense to me. It's just too farfetched for me and I'm not interested in reading the other three books.

Just girl meets boy. They fall in love within moment's.Then they have sex. ...within moments. And tell each other of their unending love for each other.REALLY???

Yep. These guys are all in. It doesn't matter how long they have known their ladies. Their ladies love them big , dirty and strong. The best part is. They know what word mine is.

I liked a couple of the books better then others but all were good and very sexy. This is a new author for me and I'll definitely be buying more of her books.

I so love these books by this author, they are short and steamy, a perfect escape for short time when you need a break.Nailed - Brody is a hot alpha man and is immediately attracted to the shy nerdy woman, Megan and it doesn't take him long to get her to open up to him in more ways than one. A great quick steamy read that is to the point w/o any extra frills or unnecessary drama and I loved the fact that Brody wasn't a male sl** and gave Megan the confidence boost she needed while being patient with her, drawing her out of her shell.Bounced - A short, quick, great steamy read about a bouncer, Anvil and the woman he falls for at first sight, Sarah. I really enjoyed this read which was free from excess drama and misunderstandings and I loved the fact that they embraced what they did with little to no second thoughts and made it last.Wrecked - Another short and steamy read about a tow truck driver, Rogan and the young woman he helps Layna. They meet when she calls for a sevice to pull her out of a ditch and then again when she calls him to bail her out of jail. It's then he decides he wants to keep her and make her his. She has secrets and is running away from someone but she feels safe with him and finally opens up & reveals all. An alpha man who doesn't lie & is fiercely protective of his woman and doesn't play games. Instant attraction and a woman who is better with the alpha man by her side to complete each other....refreshing read, to the point, insta love, a book you can't put down till you're done.Drilled - A hot alpha man, Graden, who says what he means and doesn't beat around the bush and the young woman, Rebecca, he promised to look after his best friend (her older brother) died. Graden is fighting his attraction to Rebecca, thinking she needs somebody better and that he is not worthy of her. Rebecca though has other plans, she has wanted Graden who is all male. When she asks him to teach her how to keep a guy, he loses it and it becomes tense between the two until finally he can't hold out any longer. But there is something he hasn't told her and that may just drive her away.I can't get enough of these stories from this author as the author has a way in a very short amount of time having you fall in love with both of the characters. The writing is exceptional and I really really enjoy that the man is not a man wh***, but is an all dirty talking possessive alpha man that makes you swoon, sigh & swoon again, needing at least 2 full glasses of ice water just to cool down from the intense and steamy steamy scenes. Not only that but little drama and what drama there is, it doesn't go on and on and on...refreshing.A perfect book to read by the poolside or beach so when it gets too hot you can cool down!!!

Bounced:This is my first book by Ms Harper & if this is her usual style then I am a huge fan already. I love a good insta-love/lust book. Anvil is a pretty awesome guy & when he sees Sarah he is blown away. He is a tough guy with a beautiful heart & Sarah is a good girl who keeps on the straight & narrow, that is until Anvil knocks her feet out from under her.Nailed:Megan has never fitted in either with her father or her peers. She is socially awkward and lives in a world dominated by the cerebral and not the carnal but when Brody comes to the house to do work for her father that changes for her. Brody is so incredibly sweet to her and instantly feels protective and wants nothing more than to keep her safe, even if its from himself but when he finds her in a compromising position all bets are off and he vows to teach her not only about the carnal but about her worth as a woman, his woman.Drilled:Rebecca doesn't have the best self-esteem but she is sweet and kind and surprisingly knows how to stand up for herself when the need arises. Graden, well, well, well... he is a what my mom would call a man's man! He lives up to his promise to his friend but in doing so changes his own life irrevocably and sets him in a direction he never thought he wanted.Wrecked:Insta-everything doesn't make it any less believable or sweet. (& of course don't forget steamy). When Lance meets Layna he figures she is trouble, what he doesn't figure straight away is how she is going to turn his life completely upside down. He knows she is running from something but just doesn't know what it is. When she trusts him enough to let him in he is furious at what she has gone through and decides then and there that she is his and nothing and no-one will ever hurt her again.I voluntarily reviewed each of these books individually in the past.

I love these books so much! Each one is a unique treat where a spirited young lady finds her HEA with a blue collar yet swoon-worthy alpha sweetheart. This author's writing style is exceptionally brilliant, with hilarious dialogue, intense chemistry, authentic situations, and genuine heartfelt emotional depth. The romances are deliciously sweet, but there's more than enough steam in these books to set your kindles on fire! Each novella is a decadent treat, one you'll want to read again and again and again. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this set.

These books are so amazing and the perfect length to read during lunch or right before bed. These stories are full of stream with men who prove hard work reaps great rewards.Worth every penny, give up the Billionaire's for a while and see how dirty blue collar can be. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Considering the amount of references to Jane Austen and her books and how much the book’s female lead, Samantha, is such a bookworm, it was surprising at how long it took for me to get into the story. Fortunately, the book was saved with a strong second half and a story revolving around a complicated female.Let me start this off with touching on the book’s narrative taking the form of letters. I like that Katherine Reay did something different with Sam telling her story/journey through one-sided letters to her anonymous benefactor. It’s not only diverting from the norm, but it helped emphasized the aura of a Jane Austen or Charles Dickens story which is par for the course for the book with its bookish leading lady. But the thing with this approach (and the level of financial involvement of the mystery benefactor) is that a certain level of suspended belief is needed. I mean, I don’t know about you, but none of my letters (or emails) are this descriptive with quoted dialogues. Calling them ‘journal entries’ would probably be more fitting. But that may be me being nitpicky or just a plain ole killjoy.I enjoyed that Reay didn’t take the easy and expected route to make Sam into a charismatic and witty female lead that you would find in a Austen-influenced story. In a way, Sam was the opposite. She was distant, on guard with less than great people skills which made it difficult for her to connect and make friends. While I appreciated the different approach to Sam’s character, it also made reading the first half of the book a little difficult for me. It just felt like the first half of the story consisted of Sam bemoaning her situation, making it difficult to like her as a character and getting engaged in the story. It wasn’t until I read further and Sam started to grow and get connected with other characters that the story picked up. It was then that you saw the layers to Sam and the issues that she carried around, using characters from her favorite books to quote and hide behind. This book is more than just an homage to Jane Austen and other classic authors. While it carries the feel of an Austen book, it went beyond that. It was actually a story about breaking out of your shell and defining yourself by the choices you make in the present and for your future instead of letting your past hold you back. Reay’s debut had a rocky start for me, but eventually righted itself to give a nice story with heart and enough Austen quotes that any fan of hers would appreciate.

I have loved every book I've read by this author. I can't tell you how long I have been eyeing this particular book. And having several friends tell me that I should read it. I kept saying I was going to and life would be busy, and other books I was reviewing would keep popping up taking my free time. Well I told myself at the beginning of the summer that I was going to remedy it all and read it. I bought a copy when it was on sale and downloaded it thinking I would read it on my long camping trip hiding away in the woods. It didn't happen. I hardly read at all. Last week after I'd gotten home from the long summer vacation, I opened the book up just thinking I'd peek at it and slowly start it before I went to bed. Ha! Ha, ha, ha, ha, HA! Yeah right. I couldn't put it down. I read and read and read and...you get the idea. I think I read most of the book that night. Fell asleep, then woke up and read during my free moments. I have a lot on my mind and trying to organize a couple different big things that my brain was so exhausted from that, that when I started this book it was such a relaxing and enjoyable time for my overwhelmed brain. I absolutely loved it.My brain is still on overload and trying to prep for school that I'm not going to go into my normal rambling thoughts for a review. I just had to say how much I loved these characters. I've read a couple books now in a row that the characters were just fabulous! I loved the letter format for the book. Samantha was so interesting to dive into her character and I loved how honest she was, it made it so easy to connect with her and understand her world.I think I highlighted the whole book. Hee Hee! Ok, not really but I was highlighting like crazy. Quotes I liked, moments and scenes that had me happy sighing. *ahhhh, happy sigh*. All of the literary references were so much fun. I loved them! Especially because the books she was referencing are favorite books of mine. That of course makes me connect even more with this book. This is one that I will need to return to over and over again! If you haven't read a book by Katherine Reay, go do so now. I'm a fan! I can't even begin to say how much I loved the love story. There are so many things I want to say right now, but I'm just going to keep it all in because it will spoil it all if I say anything. My lips are sealed. Now, go read Samantha's letters to Mr. Knightley!Content: Clean. This book deals with orphans/foster care children so there are scenes that mention some of the struggles and sorrow associated with them. Especially physical abuse, mental abuse. So be warned that this isn't a light a fluffy read, it's real and emotional but very well written. The love story is sweet and clean.Happy Reading!!!

Review

“Impress the hell out of everyone without even having to set an alarm. Make ahead, chill, and wake up the house with the smell of delicious baking.”— Lucky Peach"Little Flower Baking is a 260-plus-page reminder that nobody does cakes, pies, cookies—you name it—quite like she does. If you need us, we’ll be licking turmeric-orange glaze off our beaters.”— Los Angeles Magazine“What a fabulous treat! I’ve always admired Christine’s knack for making recipes that are both comforting and inspired. This is the book to use for updated baking essentials, full of secrets that are simple, straightforward, and delicious.”— Sherry Yard, owner/chef of the Helms Bakery and author of Desserts by the Yard and The Secrets of Baking““Reading these pages is like sitting with Christine for a cup of coffee. I can hear her voice in every hearty potato bacon biscuit, in how she tells us to make an earnest sauce out of sea salt caramels, and in the practical ways she suggests to swap one ingredient for the other when the season calls for it. Few bakers can translate their pastries into words with the richness that Christine and Cecilia have in this cookbook. This is the kind of book that finds a home on the kitchen counter, collecting stains from sticky fingers or splattering pots of fruit, with many of its pages marked and handwritten notes on the sidelines.” — Roxana Jullapat, owner/baker, Friends + Family“It’s no surprise that Christine Moore’s Little Flower Baking is just like her, straightforward and enormously appealing—always figuring out a way to teach or be of service, and ultimately luscious without being precious in any way. I want to bake my way through these recipes from the first to the last.” — Evan Kleiman, host of Good Food on KCRW/NPR“When you eat Christine Moore's food, you feel happy and well served by life.”— Jonathan Gold, Pulitzer Prize–winning food writer, Los Angeles Times

Little Flower Baking has gorgeous photos that will have you itching to get into the kitchen and start baking. There is a pretty diverse range of recipes in here, from old standards like chocolate chip cookies to a phenomenal tomato ricotta cake to mini chicken pot pies. The recipe index also includes a list of gluten-free (24) & vegan (6) recipes, although that list encompasses a golden milk latte, hot chocolate, mexican hot chocolate, and brown butter ice cream, none of which are baked....I own "Little Flower" and I really loved all the savory recipes I made from it (green soup=amazing), but I wasn't blown away by the sweet recipes. They were pretty good, just not as good as other recipes for the same item. I was excited to see the new savory baking recipes in Little Flower Baking and curious about the sweet recipes. As I was flipping through, I noticed there's actually a high amount of overlap between the bakery & sweet recipes in "Little Flower" to the ones here. The way the ingredients have been written might be slightly changed (packed light brown sugar vs golden brown sugar) or in a few cases the scale has changed, but it is the same recipe in both cookbooks - this seems to be true for at least the oatcakes, buttermilk pretzel rolls, chocolate chip cookies, bouchons, brown butter shortbread, ginger scone, granola, foley cake, white cake, and the molasses cookies. The first cookbook was pretty small, so that is actually a fair percentage of the "baking" recipes from cookbook #1 duplicated here. That being said, Little Flower Baking has a ton of new recipes relative to the first cookbook, so while I wish I didn't have exact duplicates of recipes I liked but wasn't necessarily blown away by, there is a lot of new interesting content in this book. Some of the scone recipes included in Little Flower Baking are definitely going to be making a regular breakfast rotation in my kitchen, like the curry pineapple, honey lavender, as well as peach ricotta scones. I've made the chai sugar cookies and the white chocolate chai cookies for co-workers, and they were happily devoured by everyone. These recipes are pretty deliciously unique - I haven't seen them in other cookbooks - however the instructions are not perfect - the cup and gram measurements do not always match, particularly in the case of sugar and flour. In the case of the cookies, no indication is given as to the thickness they ought to be (beyond they should look "like hockey pucks"). Furthermore, the baking time given did not match my experience - my cookies and scones were perfectly cooked about 10 minutes before the recipe indicated they should be. The Alsatian Onion Tart recipe produced a fantastic tart, although it would be nice if Christine clued her reader in on how long it might take to "cook until onions are golden brown and taste sweet" - as not everyone may realize how long to allot for that process (at least an hour, if not more). I'm most excited about the Savory Muffins recipe, which is "inspired by ... Craftsman and Wolves" - their egg-in-a-muffin is outrageously good and costs an exorbitant amount, so I'm thrilled that Christine is enabling me to make my own version, even though it's not an exact replica. One additional note: It's a little strange that the featured blurb (as of writing this review) from Amazon for this cookbook is something about Christine's blood orange tarts, but that recipe isn't actually in this cookbook, it's one of the few baked items that doesn't overlap. That's not this cookbook's fault, but it's worth noting in case people are hoping for that recipe here!

The vegan ginger muffin Little Flower Candy Co. sells in Eagle Rock/Pasadena is one of *the best* egg- and dairy-free treats I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I cannot believe that I now have the official recipe thanks to this cookbook. Thank you so much for sharing with us all, Christine Moore! (BTW: I still plan to visit LFCC and buy them + other vegan treats!)

Chocolate Boucheron were delicious- I took them to a potluck where they were instantly consumed. Can't wait to try the next recipe.

Great cookbook!

Enjoyable reading and nice collection of recipes. The several I've tried have become favorites already

Great recipes that have been given a little more thought and attention.
