oh, my old fave, enemies-to-lovers trope. i think it's my fave because all that animosity is so combustible. bad judgment is a new adult standalone that follows justine and ryker, and their tempestuous relationship during their third year of law school.like so many enemies-to-lovers justine and ryker come from opposite sides of the track. ryker was born with a silver spoon, the son of a state supreme court justice and high profile attorney who comes from money. justine is the daughter of two con artists who destroyed her credit by stealing her identity while she was still in diapers. her grandfather raised her, and what little income she has from his estate was depleted by the time it came to pay for law school.when the school decides to cut their merit scholarship program, justine is desperate. and when ryker's father offers to pay her tuition in exchange for her help in getting ryker to refocus on his studies, she has no choice but accept his offer. the relationship that grows between justine and ryker as they spend time together is full of sexy chemistry but also they are perfectly matched. for all their differences they both are really smart. ryker may be unsure of his future in law, but justine knows exactly how she wants to make a difference.of course both justine and ryker are keeping some secrets from each other, and like secrets tend to do in romance novels, things blow up in time for the third act. luckily, nothing keeps them apart for too long, though some of the twists involving the secrets ryker was keeping were both telegraphed and didn't exactly work for me.at one point when they are on the outs, ryker gets into a car accident, the events that happen before sort of make sense, but then what happens afterwards made me wonder at certain points whether or not he had been drugged or if something more sinister was happening. and then the fallout from that didn't seem severe enough. it's not like i wanted ryker to be caught with a dui and ruining his life, but why even start down that road? was it supposed to help justine understand some of ryker's other choices? if it was, it didn't do that all that well.but since things do get resolved and a sweet epilogue ties things up nicely, and i just loved ryker the end result is that i have mostly good feelings about this story.

This was a pretty solid read and if you're a fan of Meghan March, you should enjoy this. I don't know if I'd call this your typical enemies to lovers book. It was more of a 'I think you're a hot, but shallow, douche who keeps asking me out and I don't want to waste my time' story. Justine is committed to doing well in her law degree and maintaining her scholarship. Since she started law school, she has been constantly asked out by Ryker, a fellow student. She finally gives in to their attraction one night, sharing a hot kiss at the back of a bar, and decides to give him a chance, only to have him stand her up the next day when he was supposed to be helping her move. As a result, Justine continues to think he's a jerk, but there isn't a tremendous amount of animosity and for most of the book, I actually really liked Ryker as he chased Justine. She was actually the one that was a bit wishy-washy, not wanting to date so she could focus on getting her degree. When Justine's scholarship gets pulled, she's left to make a dubious deal with Ryker's father, a judge, to help him refocus on his studies. And here the romance begins amongst secrets held from both sides.It was a mostly entertaining read that was well written. I took a star off because it was a bit repetitive, but overall I enjoyed it. It was good to read a Meghan March book that was a decent length and had a bit more meat to it (don't get me wrong, I really like this author but some of her newer books seem a bit brief so they can be stretched to a trilogy). The storyline was a bit predictable but there wasn't too much back and forth so the plot stayed pretty fluent.

I used my good judgement to read this book. It was enjoyable. Justine and Ryker were like-able characters. They definitely singed my reader.My lack of stars were due to what I felt like plot holes or forgotten plots? Let’s just say I had questions. Of course, this could just be me taking the story in a different direction in my head.This is a new young adult read and if that is not your cup of tea don’t read. If you enjoy books from Harper Sloan and Samantha Young then give Meghan March a try.

Loved the first half of the book. Hated the second half. What happened? Every character became annoying, completely unlikable. Ryker started off so hot then turned into a wishy washy, unattracrive softy. Jus, another fairly strong start, then comes the sad sack, weak, indecisive child. Skimmed through last chapters. Blah! Disappointing.

I enjoyed reading this book. With such amazing, driven, idealistic and hilarious characters, together with an incredible concept and unexpected twist and turns to the plot made this book a fantastic read. This was another story of Ms. March's that had me on the edge of my seating quietly contemplating an outcome, anticipating the characters next move and willing them to just get with the program sooner rather than later (these characters don't listen to a word I say... Truly stubborn which frustrated me).Justine and Ryker has had it rough growing up with the heavy weight of family expectations and secrets that they had to endure. Since the day they met at Law School, Ryker has been trying to get Justine to go out on a date with him. This has been going on for over two (2) years with Justine always turning him down or doing her best to avoid him, until that faithful day they made a pact that turn the tide in their relationship. But soon after their enemies, secrets and lies are all coming out of the wood works that may or may not cause damage to their budding relationship.Will they be able to overcome it all and build a future together?

I found this book through some forum posts on the topic. I had high expectations on the book but found it lacking content I can really sink my teeth into. None of the ideas were revolutionary for a book published in 2010. I was also disappointed that fair bit of the book was used to cover basic camera operation when the author should have used the space to discuss topics that pertain to the subject at hand.

Though the book contains several great photos, it is written for someone very new to digital cameras and contains thorough explanations of how digital technology works. I don't recommend this for anyone with any basic knowledge of how to use your digital camera. Though I do recommend it if you are new to digital photography. It also suffers from another tech side effect. The book was written well before current technology existed and has somewhat dated information.

This book is like many of the photo books I've read lately, not much substance. It's got a nice flashy cover, but there really isn't much useful info inside. It seems like thats the trend I'm seeing in many of the new photography books that are being pushed. They put some flashy pictures in them here and there, many of them are not even the authors pictures, and write some fluff and make some money.

This book will give you a lot of good ideas for senior photos. Definately worth ordering

this book is 80% about marketing and sales(which is no good), and only 10% about shooting techniques(which are no good). the other 10% is just useless book filler info. i am a pro photographer and would not recommend this to my worst enemy.

Even though I don't recognize many of the names, their images are really well done.The marketing tips in this book are invaluable. His Model Program is something that I will implement this year. I have tried rep programs before, but his has a different direction and purpose. I know it is going to get me more sessions. I could go on and on, but just get the book. In fact, this is the second time I am reviewing it because I did it a disservice the first time by just mentioning great photos and solid marketing tips. You'll be glad you picked it up.

It is not only a step by step guide to taking great digital photos - from the basics to lighting and other special effects - it is a wonderful marketing guide on how to market your photography business, stand out amongst others and how to truly be successful in this business.In today's world as every household practically now owns their own digital camera and can upload and print pictures from their computer or run to the nearest Wal-mart for processing and package creations, a professional photographer must do something special, or offer something special to make a parent want to use them for their Senior's pictures. This book shows you just what to do and how to do it. It is very comprehensive, easy to read and can be put into immediate use. I have already changed my whole marketing approach for this year's Seniors market. Thank you!!!!

"The Strange Case of Origami Yoda" is a book targeted at younger readers using an imaginative "Star Wars" device as a touchstone. The book is amusing for those who enjoy the film series, and largely deals with subjects interesting to middle school students (and others) worldwide, with the angst of becoming a teenager targeted in humorous vignettes. The book is told in an unusual format, using a central narrator to weave together stories from the viewpoints of different kids. The fundamental question boils down to "is Origami Yoda real?" The theory has both supporters and detractors, but it will not surprise you to learn that the real need to know the answer revolves around asking a cute girl to dance at a PTA function. Along the way there are many amusing diversions ("Soapy the monkey presents: 'Feeling good about our smells,'") as well as childhood nightmares like dodgeball and even squirrel attacks.I admit that I bought this as a gift but read it myself first. Although I declined to make my own Origami Yoda (directions are included) and subscribe mostly to Marcie's viewpoint of the green wad of paper on the end of Dwight's finger, the book is entertaining in its own peculiar way, and will be a true hit with budding pre-adolescent boys in particular.

My 2nd grade son is an advanced reader but honestly doesn't like to read chapter books very often. This totally had his attention and he begged for the next one in the series! Over all it was just a fun story but there are some concepts like teasing classmates or even having first crushes and kissing. Not bad concepts at all but for my 2nd grader this was new territory, so just be aware as parents. Most kids that read this will probably be in 4-6th grade so these ideas are more common, but if you are like me with an advanced reader it is good to know they are discussed.

This book follows Dwight, a weird kid that gives advice to others through his origami Yoda finger puppet. Tommy and his friends want to find out if the finger puppet actually has special powers or not. The novel then pans out like a series of short stories where we see Yoda giving advice to different characters. Tommy and his friend Harvey then evaluate what to make of each story: does it prove that finger puppet Yoda has special powers or not? Along the way, there are amusing doodles off to the side of the page, which can be funny and help the reader picture how different characters look.The book's more than funny, though. It shows readers how some people might try acting weird to get attention, and it shows how "weird people" can be very smart in some ways. So there is a message amongst the humor.By the way, I know very little about Star Wars, but I still found this book funny. And I'm an adult, but I still found this book funny! So even if you're not in the book's target audience, this is a fun, quick read.If you're a parent determining whether or not this book is appropriate for your child, continue reading, but be prepared for spoilers.***** SPOILERS *****Okay, there is no cussing in the book, which is good. The insults never go anywhere beyond "dipwad" or similar childish names. No controversial issues (such as race or religion) enter the mix. In fact, there's just one part of the book that bothers me. Origami Yoda tells a character to attack a boy who made fun of a girl. This character follows Yoda's advice and ends up getting suspended for fighting at school. However, the girl is so impressed that the character stood up for her that she decides to go out with him. I'm not sure that's a good message to be sending kids. That's all I really wanted to caution you on.

I originally ordered this book for a college Children's Literature class. It was one of the required reading materials for the course. Out of all the books we had to read (over 15), this was my favorite. It concentrates on a small group of kids in middle school, and it tells different chapters of the book in the viewpoint of different characters. My favorite was Dwight, who created the Origami Yoda in the first place. He's much smarter than any of them gave him credit for, orchestrating not only his own date, but matching Tommy up with his crush! Dwight made this finger puppet of Yoda, and fooled all of the kid's into thinking that Yoda was 'real' - even giving advice in'Yoda' wording. At first they all think it's silly - until the 'advice' starts coming true!Dwight was super cool to me because he didn't care what anyone else thought. He was true to himself, and he managed to laugh at himself. But he knew - from Yoda, of course - that Sarah liked Tommy. And he used Yoda to convince Tommy to go to the dance. They all had fun, and even danced 'The Twist' at the party - also suggested by Yoda.I thought it was a sweet 'coming of age' kind of story. I thought that it was a very original, even though certain things within the story are universal. It's something that kid's can relate to - as well as adults who have been there! It was fun, light-hearted, and sweet. I am even tempted myself to pick up the rest of this author's works! Perfect for children in middle school! As well as people who are just young at heart!

I love this series. They just contain some of the best writing for kids and adults out there. The stories are humorous and touching, and magical. Something rare that I can't find any flaws in, and which I don't want to because I love them.I have shared this series with my son. (My daughter prefers to closet herself away and enjoy them by herself.) We read them together and laugh. And we discuss what's going on and how we feel about how the different characters choose to act.In this book, we're introduced to Tommy and Dwight and the rest of the gang. And the best way to describe the essence of the book, without giving any spoilers, is to say that Dwight doesn't talk much unless he's got origami Yoda on his finger. And when he does that, he isn't really talking as Dwight so much, as the venerable Jedi. Or so it seems.Yoda's cryptic wisdom makes this story shear magic. My boy and I HIGHLY recommend the series.
