When I was learning Ajax with WordPress, finding good documentation was hard to find. My education was basically ripping code from other plugins, mashing them together, and hoping everything worked.I've grown a lot in my journey. While I am still far from perfect, I felt it necessary to share what I have learned over the years.This book began humbly. I thought to myself, "Why not write a quick group of articles on using Ajax with WordPress?"I began working on an outline, and it became quite obvious this wasn't going to be a short series of articles. In order to adequately cover the topic, there needed to be much, much more.This project started in 2008 and is definitely geared towards existing developers. The introductory chapters do indeed lay a solid foundation.  It is my hope that the book provides you a rock-solid foundation for using Ajax with WordPress. After the foundation has been laid, you will be walked through several real-world examples. By the end of the book, you should not only have a thorough understanding of Ajax, but how Ajax functions within WordPress itself.The code examples I present are from my own (sometimes painful) experiences with using Ajax. If the title of this one interested you, you are probably not new to Wordpress. Great book, for advanced users. Covers a lot of different topics, about half the book is dedicated to forms.
Clear and easy to understand, this book has been incredibly useful to me and helped me tremendously.Really like the style in which it has been written.
This must be one of the easiest books to get on with that I have ever read on the subject. It a great book
I own both the print and PDF editions of this book and give it my highest recommendation for any current or aspiring WordPress developers, regardless of skill level. I run a web development business and this is an invaluable resource in our library.
There is at least one major plugin out there that could benefit from this book. The steps that the author walks you through make it simple for anyone with the least amount of programming skills to Ajax-enable their WordPress theme or plugin. Most WordPress books are too light or unfocused to be worth the investment. This is one of two books every WordPress developer should have on their shelf.
